We are a busy ophthalmology practice located in Pacific Heights San Francisco.  We are seeking a full-time medical office receptionist with full benefits.  Office hours are Monday – Friday 8AM to 5 PM.  Preference will be given to candidates with ophthalmology/optometry experience, but we are willing to train the right candidate.  This role would require communicating with patients in person and over the phone.  This includes triage of eye problems, scheduling appointments, scheduling eye surgeries and assistance with back-office testing including Humphrey Visual field, corneal topography, and imaging of the retina.  The appropriate candidate will be a quick learner, professional and have excellent demeanor with patients.

This is an excellent learning opportunity for a pre-optometry or pre-medical student seeking a gap 1-2 years before applying to graduate school.  There is a possibility to assist with research projects for the right candidate.  We are also willing to consider a part-time position for the appropriate candidate.  Many of our former employees have gone on to medical or optometry school and have gained invaluable experience both in ophthalmic testing as well as patient communication.  The direct physician and optometrist supervisors have taught at all levels of optometry and medical school.
